Indian Cuisine with Joyita – Raita with Masala Boondi

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS: tsp = teaspoon tbsp = tablespoon 1 cup = 240 ml

1 ½ cup Yoghurt (thick)
½ cup Milk
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp salt (or black salt)
1 tsp cumin powder ( for best result roasted cumin seed
powder)
½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
½ tsp chat masala
½ tsp black pepper powder
8 tbsp the masala boondi

DIRECTIONS:

 

  • Add the yoghurt to a mixing bowl
  • Add the milk
  • Add salt, cumin powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, black pepper powder, chat masala and the chopped coriander leaves
  • Whisk everything well until smooth
  • We need to taste for salt and smell for the cumin powder. Might need to add a little more
  • Add the boondi just before serving. Gentle mix.

  • Garnish the raita with little spice powders, boondi and coriander ( as shown in the class)
