Salsa Roja is an authentic Mexican salsa made with tomatoes and chili peppers. It’s delicious with chips or over tacos, burritos, and any dish you need a boost of big, spicy flavours.
6 medium tomatoes
8 red chillies, stems removed
1 small onion, peeled and chopped (optional)
3 cloves garlic, peeled (optional)
2 limes, juiced (optional)
1 tablespoon salt
1/5 cup of sunflower oil (optional)
1 bunch cilantro, stemmed and finely chopped (optional)
In a blender, combine tomatoes, chillies, salt and all optional ingredients.
Pulse to process to desired consistency.
Set to boil and stir constantly.
Add cilantro if you tolerate this herb and stir to combine.
