Venezuelan Cuisine with Adriana – Tequenos

Serve : 12-15 sticks  

INGREDIENTS: ts = teaspoon tbsp = tablespoon 

Ingredients 

Halloumi cheese

Dough: ( or you can use the ready-to-use pizza dough) 

  2 Cups all-purpose flour

Salt

6 tablespoon cold butter

1 large egg

6 tablespoon cold water

Oil, for frying

 

PREPARATIONS:

 

  • Place flour and salt in a work bowl of a food processor, pulse to combine

  • Then add the butter, egg and water

  • After the dough get all mix and forms a ball, transfer it into a bowl, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and rest in refrigerator for 30 min

  • Unwrap dough and place on a lightly floured surface

  • Roll out into a square 3 mm thick

  • Cut off edges to create 30 cm  square

  • Cut square into strips 2,5 cm wide

  • Take one strip of dough and drape end over of one cheese slice

  • After all done fry them until gold colour
