10 corn tortillas
½ liter frying oil
- Cut the tortillas in small triangles.
- Add the oil in a frying pan or wok and heat it at high temperature. Once the oil is hot, add carefully small portions of the tortilla triangles and let them fry for approximately 2-3 minutes, until they get a golden color. Be careful not to let them fry for too long or they will be too hard to bite.
- Use a slotted spoon to take the totopos out of the frying pan and leave them to rest in an aluminum strainer or on kitchen paper to remove the excess oil. Continue the process until you have fried all the triangles.
